The reason to why i was so MIA for the last couple days was because three friends and i were at a Global Issues & Poverty conference. It was defiantly a life changing experience, however there were a couple ignorant people who i constantly had to disagree with because some of the things they would say just made no sense at all. For example after watching an Amnesty International movie called blood in the mobile, which i really recommend everyone to watch:http://bloodinthemobile.org/, but this guy that was there who was fairly middle aged had said that we have no fault in the whole situation that everything that’s happening is all due to corporations, and that no matter what changes we make in our personal life styles we’re just one person and we can’t change anything. I’m honestly staring at the guy while he’s saying this wondering why the hell he’s here, and then i reply in our group discussion saying that these corporations yes do these horrendous acts but at the end of the day their jobs are to meet our demands, and that’s where their profit comes from if we constantly expect the cheaper convenient alternative that’s what we’re going to get. But there were so many other passionate youth there that had similar interests in international relations that it made me discover how passionate i really was about these issues.
